Testimonials

Girls on the Run New Jersey East

“Sharyse expertly facilitated a strategic planning retreat with our staff and board of directors that was productive, positive and fun! Prior to the retreat, she asked challenging and smart questions that set the stage for a successful discussion. She was responsive to our needs and meeting objectives, and she also pushed us to the next level in terms of strategy and group dynamics. We left the retreat with a solid framework for our 3-year vision and clear next steps, as well as closer bonds between our team members. Sharyse deeply understands nonprofit organizations, which makes her a wise and empathetic partner. And above all else, she is a passionate leader with infectious enthusiasm and a sense of humor that brings people together, even as we’re tackling tough topics and decisions.

I highly recommend Sharyse Porter for strategic planning and group facilitation!”

- Suzanne Elliott, Executive Director, Girls on the Run NJ East

“Sharyse helped us rethink our board engagement strategy. In just a few months, our board went from scattered to aligned—and we’re already seeing the results.”

— Nonprofit Executive Director

"Sharyse Porter and The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) have maintained a collaborative relationship since 2017. This partnership began with the development of the Health Break program, which provides nursing students an opportunity to engage with individuals with developmental disabilities (IDD). Nursing students participate in Health Break to complete 25 hours of community-engaged learning, a requirement for students in their sophomore year.

Students in the Career and Community Studies program also participate in Health Break as part of their health and wellness curriculum. The program promotes the integration and inclusion of persons with disabilities among typically developing individuals, fostering a more humanized classroom environment. These interactions help nursing students develop sensitivity to the needs of those with differing abilities, cultivating empathy as they learn about the complexities of individual personalities, unique needs, and perspectives.

Ms. Porter and TCNJ have continued their commitment to the community through outreach and educational initiatives focused on population health and the social determinants of health that impact our communities."
